Owners' Comments

We used to live in Ivybridge in a four-bedroom mock-Georgian house, but after retiring and travelling more, we decided to downsize. We had always admired Marley House from the road, so when it came onto the market, it felt like the perfect move. Although it’s a two-bedroom apartment, it has the same floor area as our previous home.

We wanted somewhere secure and easy to leave while travelling, but still with a rural feel. Pal Carew gave us that, while also being close to the A38 for easy access to Dartmoor, the coast, Exeter, Plymouth and London.

One of the big advantages here is the combination of space, beautiful views and security. We also own a share of the freehold, so residents manage the property together and agree service charges and maintenance plans annually. Having our own water supply and sewage system also helps keep costs very reasonable.

We’ll be sad to leave Pal Carew. It’s peaceful, spacious and in a wonderful part of the country. However, most of our family have moved back to Scotland, so we expect that will be our next move too. We know we’ll miss the light and airy feel of the apartment, and finding something similar may be difficult.
